Scottish Enterprise's Innovation Support Service

Scottish Enterprise (SE) has recently introduced a new Innovation Support Service, (ISS) as a major initiative to increase the commercial success and economic impact from business’ innovation activity.

ISS is available to all existing businesses with an innovation project to develop a new product or service. The service is also available to new-starts that are setting up a business based on their innovation project.

ISS is primarily an advisory service that focuses on the commercial aspects of the innovation project. It helps clients assess or confirm that there is a valid business opportunity for their project and how best to go about realising it. The primary objective is to increase the probability of commercial success of the innovation project.

ISS has progressive levels of support starting with a structured advisory meeting with an Innovation Specialist (an Innovation Surgery) and, depending on the nature, scale and status of the project, possibly free specialist consultancy (up to 2 days) from external Innovation Experts, and finally grant support.

To request ISS support, complete a project description form which can be downloaded from: www.scottish-enterprise.com/iss and email it to as described on the attached flyer.

If you have any questions about ISS, please get in touch with me at . or contact our enquiry service on 0845 607 8787. Ger Kirk Innovation Project Manager
